A translation memory is a database in which translated sentences (segments) are stored. That is, every time a new text is translated, the translation memory will grow, and the translator will benefit next time a similar text is to be translated. Every time a translator, in a translation, comes across a segment, which is identical or almost identical to a previously translated segment, the tool will automatically show the previous translation. If necessary, the user can subsequently edit the text. We give you the opportunity to make your translations available to other users by publishing the sentences to Public Area. Each individual segment in a translation memory only contains the translation between the selected language combination. WebWordSystem comprises one translation memory, which is divided into language combinations and subject-specific areas categorised according to the ISIC classification. The translation memory contains the respective groups' Private Area and Public Area. |
